Designed for hunters who value comfort and stability, this wide saddle platform provides more standing room than another Kalkal saddle platform, offering natural foot movement during long hours in the tree. Its durable aluminum construction, quiet setup, and secure grip help you stay comfortable, balanced, and ready for confident shots from every angle.
Tree Saddle Hunting Platform Feature
- Extra Standing Room: Long hours in the saddle demand a platform that keeps you comfortable. This larger platform provides generous space to shift your feet naturally, helping reduce fatigue while maintaining a stable stance throughout your hunt. Built from durable 6061 aluminum, it supports up to 300 lbs.
- Rock-Solid Stability: A stable platform gives you the confidence to stay focused on the shot. Aggressive V-shaped traction teeth bite firmly into tree bark, while heavy-duty adjustable nylon straps secure the platform on trees from 6 to 20 inches in diameter.
- Comfortable Movement: The wider platform shape gives your boots more freedom to reposition as your shooting angle changes. Deep traction grooves and raised outer edges provide reliable grip, helping you turn around smoothly and maintain solid footing.
- Hunt Quietly: The low-glare matte finish minimizes unwanted reflections, while the quiet hardware design helps reduce metal noise during setup and adjustments, allowing you to stay focused and unnoticed.
- Foldable for Easy Transport: The saddle platform folds flat for convenient storage and transport. Adjustable positioning allows it to adapt to leaning trees and different hunting setups, providing a secure and comfortable platform wherever you hunt.
Great quality. Light enough to pack in at a distance but heavy enough for durable long term use. Good value. Easy to assemble. Easy to install on a tree. Great grip. Nice hooks on sides for tying a pull line. Great design. Easy adjust of the angle desired. Im really liking the entire line of kalkal so far. Folds up easy for packing. Good knurling on the surface for grip.
?? I have several tree stands from Kalkal as well as other manufacturers, so I have something to compare it to. Based on my experience, Kalkal makes a good-quality product, and I would consider this platform a good choice for saddle hunting.
?? This isn’t something that is going to blaze a new trail in saddle hunting, but it doesn’t need to be. Sometimes a product doesn’t have to reinvent the wheel¡ªit just needs to be built well and do its job.
?? At $129.99, I think it is a little expensive, but the solid construction, lightweight design, ease of installation, and overall stability help justify the price.
? Overall, 4 stars from me. It is a solid, well-built hunting platform that is easy to install and surprisingly sturdy for its weight. It may not bring anything revolutionary to saddle hunting, but it is a dependable choice from a manufacturer I have had good experiences with.
The aluminum construction feels sturdy right out of the box. It is lightweight enough to carry up a tree but rigid enough to hold weight without wobbling. The adjustable legs make it easy to fit different trunk sizes. I like that the surface has grip so my boots stay put. It is a simple design that does exactly what it needs to do.
Assembly took very little time. The hardware is solid and tightens securely. There are no sharp edges or rough spots on the frame. It feels built for the field rather than just for show. The gray color blends in well with the bark. I appreciate the attention to detail in the joints and mounting points.
The value is clear when you look at the materials used. You get a durable piece of gear without paying for unnecessary bells and whistles. It is a smart investment for anyone hunting from the trees. The quality matches what you would expect from a professional tool. It feels like it will last for many seasons of use.
I set it up in an oak tree last weekend. It held steady even when I shifted my weight. The platform width is perfect for sitting comfortably. It stays secure on the branch without slipping. I felt safe and stable while waiting for deer. It is a reliable spot to rest and observe wildlife.
When I first took this Kalkal saddle platform out of the box, I was really impressed by the excellent build quality. It feels rugged and durable, yet it remains relatively lightweight, making it very easy to pack into the woods for a hunt. Attaching it to a tree is a very straightforward process. The platform bites into the bark perfectly, and the setup locks in tight without much hassle to give you a secure base.
Once you are up in the tree, the stability is absolutely rock solid. I put my full weight on it, and it didn’t shift, squeak, or kick out at all while I was leaning and maneuvering. The absolute standout feature is its compact, easily packable design, which makes mobile hunting an absolute breeze. However, because of that compact size, it can start to feel a bit cramped for your boots if you are planning on doing a long, all day sit.
The main reason I am giving this four stars instead of five is the included attachment strap. While it gets the job done, it could definitely be of higher quality or a bit easier to tighten down securely. Despite that, the platform is priced very fairly for the quality you get, even if it lacks the ultra lightweight materials found on super expensive brands. I highly recommend it to mobile hunters, just be prepared to upgrade the strap eventually to get the perfect setup.
